Who runs this

FundingRateLab Research is an independent, self-funded research project studying cross-venue funding-rate arbitrage between perpetual futures (Hyperliquid, Coinbase International) and offsetting hedge positions via Interactive Brokers. It is run and maintained privately; no outside capital, sponsors, or affiliate arrangements are involved at this stage.

Project history

The underlying research and paper-trading daemon predate this public site. Rule changes, bug fixes, and incidents from that internal history — including losing trades and an extended outage — are preserved and documented in the Research Journal rather than edited out.

Paper vs. live — read this before trusting any number on this site

Every trade, position, and P&L figure on this site comes from a paper (simulated) trading process. No live orders are placed on any venue, no real capital is at risk, and no customer funds are involved anywhere in this project. Simulated fills use observed quote prices, not certified execution prices — real trading would incur slippage and execution risk not captured here. Nothing on this site is investment advice or a recommendation to trade; see Legal & Privacy.

Data sources

  • Funding rates and open interest: venue APIs (Hyperliquid, Coinbase International).
  • Hedge-instrument prices: Yahoo Finance, used for research purposes; see the Methodology page for known limitations of this feed around market opens.
  • All figures published here are delayed and pass through an internal review step before release — see "Corrections" below.

Corrections & conflicts

When a data or calculation error is found after publication, it is corrected and logged with an internal audit trail rather than silently edited. Material corrections that change a previously published result are noted in the Research Journal. There are no known financial conflicts of interest — no venue sponsorship, no paid placement, and no compensation tied to the direction of any published research.
